Phoenix Suns superstar Kevin Durant will be a 94 overall in NBA 2K25, 2K announced today, which is his lowest ranking since NBA 2K17.

Durant ranks as the ninth-best player in the game behind names like LeBron James, Stephen Curry and Jayson Tatum, who are all 95 overalls. Here is the full top-10 list:

  1. Nikola Jokić – 97 OVR
  2. Luka Dončić – 97 OVR
  3. Giannis Antetokounmpo – 97 OVR
  4. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander – 96 OVR
  5. Joel Embiid – 96 OVR
  6. LeBron James – 95 OVR
  7. Stephen Curry – 95 OVR
  8. Jayson Tatum – 95 OVR
  9. Kevin Durant – 94 OVR
  10. Anthony Davis 94 OVR

There is an argument to be made that Durant should be at least an equal rating to Curry and James after making the 2024 All-NBA Second Team while Curry and James were placed on the All-NBA Third Team.

Last season, Durant was a 96 overall, and hasn’t been lower than a 95 since 2K17 when he was a 93 (via HoopsHype), so this is a bit surprising given the season Durant had on both ends of the floor.

Even at age 35 and five years removed from an Achilles tear, Durant still played in 75 games this past season and averaged the fifth-most points in the NBA at 27.1 per game on .523/.413/.856 shooting splits to go along with 6.6 rebounds and 5.0 assists after only playing eight regular season games for Phoenix in 2023.

NBA 2K revealed earlier this month that Durant has third-best 3-point rating in the game at a 92 behind Curry (99) and Suns teammate Grayson Allen (93).

Devin Booker and Bradley Beal were the other two Suns to find themselves on the NBA 2K Top-100 List ahead of the game’s release on Sept. 4. Booker is the 12th-best player at a 93 overall, and Beal is an 85 overall, good for the No. 52 overall player in the game.
