With the 3rd overall pick of the 2024 draft, the Arizona Cardinals got the man they needed to bolster their offense by drafting the #1 rated WR option, Marvin Harrison Jr.

In a recent ranking done by ESPN’s Dan Graziano, Harrison was listed as one of the most intriguing players for the 2024 NFL season. Graziano wrote, “Harrison has occupied the football fan’s consciousness for so long now that we almost forget about him. But if he’s the prospect the Cardinals (and most of the league) believe him to be, Arizona’s passing game could be set to reach new heights much more quickly than a lot of people are assuming.”
Graziano then continued with praise for the Cardinals. While expectations are still low for Arizona, as they are coming off back-to-back terrible seasons, many have named them a potential dark horse for a playoff-caliber team. Focusing on the offense, Graziano noted, “I personally believe the Cardinals could have a sneaky good offense. After quarterback Kyler Murray returned from his torn ACL in Week 10 of last season, Arizona had the league’s second-best rushing attack behind only Buffalo (152.8 yards per game) — and the ninth-best offense overall (362.8). Add in a full, healthy offseason for Murray, who seems rejuvenated under coach Jonathan Gannon, and a year’s worth of experience in the Drew Petzing offense, and we could have expected fairly big things even if the Cardinals hadn’t added the most pro-ready wide receiver prospect in recent memory with the third pick of the draft.”
Last season, while their record may not have shown it, the Cardinals had one of the best-rushing offenses in the league. Forced to rely heavily on James Conner when Kyler Murray was absent, the Cardinals averaged 139.1 rushing yards per game, behind only the Bears and Ravens.
In addition to Harrison, the Cardinals also grabbed other key weapons to give Kyler Murray a boost. Wide receivers Chris Moore and Zay Jones were both signed to one-year deals this offseason.
