Marte will be accompanied by Padres’ 2nd basemen Luis Arraez, who finished 2nd in voting behind Ketel. Whoever receives the most votes among the two, will be named the starting second baseman in this year’s All-Star game which will be held in Arlington, Texas.
While voting for Phase 2 does not begin until Sunday, fans can start celebrating Marte early on Saturday, June 29, at 1:10 p.m. when they pick up a Ketel Marte Bat Flip Bobblehead ahead of the Diamondbacks matchup against the A’s. The first 20,000 guests in attendance for Saturday’s game will get this rare memento, which features Marte’s famous home run “bat toss” from the third inning of NLDS Game 3.
