Yesterday, ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reported on SportsCenter that “things have stalled a bit” in contract negotiations between the 49ers and Aiyuk.
Aiyuk is currently on the last year of his rookie contract and set to make $14.1 million this year, which many would consider a bargain for a receiver of his caliber, as four receivers are now making over $30 million per year. The former 2020 first-round pick was not at the team’s mandatory minicamp earlier this month due to wanting a new deal and has had plenty of drama since the 49ers lost in the Super Bowl to the Kansas City Chiefs on Feb. 11.
The current Brandon Aiyuk situation:
– On Feb 12th, Aiyuk's girlfriend posted on IG, “It might be the last time we step foot at Levi’s cause we might not be here next season”
– Aiyuk followed up with a post of his own that stated, "Don't forget what got you there."

After this video was posted CBS Sports named the Arizona Cardinals as one of five potential landing spots for Aiyuk.
CBS Sports’ Cody Benjamin wrote: “Arizona just spent a No. 4 overall draft pick on Marvin Harrison Jr., but Kyler Murray could still use more offensive weaponry as he enters Year 6, eager to prove he can stay healthy and live up to a top-10 quarterback contract. Aiyuk, meanwhile, finished his college career at Arizona State and could cash in thanks to the Cardinals owning more than $35 million in 2024 salary cap space.”
Aiyuk tallied 75 receptions for a career-high 1,342 yards to go along with seven touchdowns in the 2023-24 season.
Daniels was the No. 2 overall pick in this year’s NFL Draft. He transferred from ASU to LSU in 2022 and won the Heisman Trophy this past season. Aiyuk played at ASU for two seasons in 2018 and 2019 after transferring from junior college. In 2019 when the two were teammates, Aiyuk recorded 65 catches for 1,192 yards and eight touchdowns with Daniels under center for all 12 games.
Could we see these two reunite in Washington or the Cardinals take a swing on Aiyuk via trade?
