Former ASU wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk has been mentioned in trade rumors soon after the San Francisco 49ers lost 25-22 to the Kansas City Chiefs in Super LVIII.

Davenport’s Proposed Trade
49ers receive: a 2024 first-round (27th) pick and a 2024 fifth-round (138th overall) pick
Cardinals receive: WR Brandon Aiyuk and a 2024 fourth-round (135th overall) pick
Davenport mentioned that Arizona general manager Monti Ossenfort is exploring all options with the fourth-overall pick that he has at his disposal. There have been rumors that the New York Giants and Minnesota Vikings are two teams that have interest in trading for the pick.
When stating his case on why Arizona should consider picking up Aiyuk, Davenport believes the Cardinals desperately need more receiver depth – even if they end up drafting one.
“Now, whether the Cardinals deal the fourth pick or use it to draft Ohio State wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. (which is what the Cardinals should do), the reality in the desert is that Arizona needs more than one receiver,” Davenport said. “After the departure of Marquise Brown and Rondale Moore, the Cardinals have the weakest wideout room in the NFL – and it’s not particularly close.”
As of now, Chris Moore, Zach Pascal, Michael Wilson, Greg Dortch, Dan Chisena, Jeff Smith, Andre Baccellia, Kaden Davis and Daniel Arias sum up the Cardinals’ receiver depth.
Acknowledging that this trade would be a tough task for Arizona considering that the 49ers are both in the NFC West, Davenport stated the Cardinals could still make a deal like this possible.
“Trading Aiyuk inside the NFC West isn’t ideal,” Davenport said. “But adding a second first-rounder would put the 49ers in position to do some draft-day moving and shaking of their own – or add a quality wideout from a deep class with one pick like Adonai Mitchell of Texas and address another position with the other.”
