On Saturday night, both the Seattle Storm and Phoenix Mercury had no injuries on either game status report before it was announced pregame that the Storm would be without one of their players.

In her seventh WNBA, Russell has played 13 games (three starts), averaging 4.3 points, 3.3 rebounds and 0.7 rebounds per game. She has spent six full seasons with the Storm after they claimed her off waivers by the New York Liberty halfway through the 2018 season. Since joining Seattle, the Oregon native has won two WNBA championships (2018, 2020) and the 2021 WNBA Commissioner’s Cup.
Ezi Magbegor will start at center for Seattle. She has started in all 13 games for the Storm this season strong by averaging nearly a double-double with 12.9 points 9.5 rebounds and 2.3 assists.
