According to AZ Central’s Duane Rankin, “Phoenix Suns guard Bradley Beal had a procedure done on his nose in Phoenix shortly after the Suns were eliminated from the playoffs this year.”

Beal suffered a nasal fracture on Jan. 26 after taking a nasty, unintentional elbow to the face by Myles Turner with in the third quarter of Phoenix’s 133-131 loss to the Indiana Pacers.

Beal did not miss any games with injury, but later underwent a nasal procedure to get his septum re-aligned over the All-Star break. He wore a mask the next few games after suffering the injury, but stopped wearing it after returning from a hamstring injury on March 2.

The Suns acquired Beal from the Washington Wizards last summer.

In his 12th NBA season, Beal finished his first year in Phoenix averaging his lowest point total since the 2015-16 season at 18.2 points per game on 51/43/81 shooting splits, 5.0 assists and 4.4 rebounds across 53 contests, as he was plagued by various injuries early in the season. The team’s Big 3 of Beal, Devin Booker and Kevin Durant went 26-15 across 41 regular-season games played together, as the Suns finished 49-33 overall.

Beal and the Suns did not have a strong close at all to the season, as they were swept in the first round of the playoffs by the Minnesota Timberwolves.

In the Game 4 loss that ended the season, Beal finished with nine points on 4-of-13 shooting (1-of-5 from 3), two assists and six turnovers (five in the fourth quarter), fouling out after playing 31 minutes.

This came after Beal said that he “would be damned” if the Suns were swept after Game 3.

The 30-year-old Beal will hope to be healthier next season, as he will be on the third season of a five-year, $251 million contract. Beal, Booker and Durant will combine to make over $150 million next season, as Phoenix is projected to have the highest payroll in the NBA.
