Bell, 51, is the older brother of former Diamondbacks farm director Mike Bell, who served in that capacity through the 2011-2016 seasons. Before the 2019 season, the Reds hired David Bell to become their manager. He has a lifetime record of 350-399 with Cincinnati, including a 2020 Wild Card appearance.
The Diamondbacks are currently playing the Reds at the time of this writing, which explains the timing of this announcement. The 2024 All-Star Game will be played at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas.
