The inning ignited with Ketel Marte’s double, followed by Corbin Carroll drawing a walk.

As Gurriel Jr. rounded the bases, celebrating his pivotal home run that handed Arizona the lead, he paid homage to the iconic Alek Thomas NLCS celebration by pointing his hand in the air after passing 1st base.

This gesture was a tribute to the Diamondbacks’ t-shirt giveaway commemorating Thomas’ home run against the Phillies in game 4 of the NLCS.

On the mound for Arizona was Ryne Nelson, who delivered his first solid start of the season, allowing just one earned run over six innings before being relieved.

In the 6th inning, Nelson adeptly navigated a situation with runners on 2nd and 3rd with no outs, setting the stage for Gurriel Jr. to put the Diamondbacks ahead.

Kevin Ginkel sealed the victory in the 9th inning with a swift 1-2-3 performance, getting the Diamondbacks back into the win column.

The D-backs will aim to secure a series victory tomorrow at 1:10 pm, with Zac Gallen taking the mound.
