Before the D’Backs began the third of four games in a series against the Colorado Rockies, Carroll was the recipient of the Jackie Robinson Award after being the 2023 National League Rookie of the Year.

Even though he did play in 32 games and totaled 104 at-bats in the 2022 season, Carroll did not meet the threshold to be considered in the award race that year. To win Rookie of the Year, a player must achieve either 130 at-bats, pitching 50 innings (pitcher), or spending 45 days on an MLB team’s active roster.

Last year though, the Seattle native played in 155-of-162 regular season games for Arizona. Carroll batted .285 with 76 RBIs, 54 stolen bases and 25 home runs. He was also included in the 2023 All-MLB first-team.

On the American League side, Baltimore Orioles third baseman/shortstop Gunnar Henderson also won ROTY. Henderson had a .255 average, 82 RBIs and 28 home runs.

So far this season, Corbin Carroll is 3-for-10 at the plate (.300), walked five times and has stolen a base.

The Diamondbacks will conclude the four-game series against the Rockies at 1:10 p.m. PT on Easter Sunday.
