Last March, the Lopes lost to Gonzaga in the 1st round, in a matchup between the 3rd and 14th seeds. Gonzaga then succumbed to the eventual National Champions, the UConn Huskies, in the Elite 8.

Now, a year later, GCU returns to the bracket as a 12th seed, set to square off against St. Mary’s in the round of 64.

However, this year carries different expectations, with numerous celebrities adding to the hype.

Here are some star athletes predicting that the Lopes will at least advance to the round of 32:

Former professional boxer Evander Holyfield

Jackson Holliday, the 2022 MLB’s Draft #1 overall pick

Paolo Banchero, the 2022-2023 NBA Rookie of the Year

Gunnar Henderson, the 2023 MLB Rookie of the Year

Joey Votto, a 6-time All-Star

Former Gonzaga star Drew Timme

Bijan Robinson, the 2023 NFL Draft 8th overall pick
