Having played the previous season with the AA Amarillo Sod Poodles, Lin is determined to make it to the major leagues, aiming to join the Diamondbacks’ roster by the season’s end.

“I want to go to the big leagues this year, for sure. I mean, I got Double-A, and now there’s just one more level to go. I’m getting close.”

During 2023, Lin showcased his talent in Double-A and High-A, finishing with a commendable 3.86 ERA and striking out 140 batters across 126 innings.

He concluded the season on a high note, delivering a 6-inning, one-run performance, followed by a seven-inning, one-run outing.

However, Lin’s spring training debut this year was challenging; he allowed five earned runs and recorded only one out.

Originating from Taiwan, Lin was signed by the Diamondbacks in 2021 for a modest $525K. Operating from a 3/4 arm slot, his fastball reaches up to 90 MPH. Moreover, Lin possesses a solid arsenal of off-season pitches, including a curveball, slider, and changeup.
