Leading the charge for Cleveland in the 1st quarter was Darius Garland, who racked up 21 points. Garland ended the 1st half with 25 points, including 6 made threes.

While the Suns were able to somewhat counter this performance, with their big three contributing 44 points combined, it was once again turnovers (8) that caused them to slip into an almost 20-point deficit.

To conclude the 2nd quarter, Phoenix went on a 19-7 run, which cut the Cavs’ lead down to 7 heading into halftime.

The Suns then continued this momentum in the 3rd quarter, with an 18-3 run to start. They finally grabbed their first lead of the night with around 8 minutes remaining in the 3rd.

From there, Phoenix held a slim lead up until the midpoint of the 4th quarter. With Kevin Durant and Devin Booker resting, Phoenix’s depth struggled, leading to the Cavs making it a one-score game.

Phoenix’s bench scored just 6 points.

However, once KD and Booker returned to the game, the Suns managed to pull away again. Durant concluded with 37 points, marking his fourth consecutive game with at least 35. Devin Booker, returning from a four-game absence due to an ankle injury, closely followed with 27 points.

The Suns ultimately sealed it when Isaac Okoro stepped out of bounds with the Cavs trailing by 2 points and just 26 seconds left on the clock.

Next up for Phoenix is a rematch against the Boston Celtics on Thursday at 4:30 PM.
