On one hand, some fans expressed excitement at the prospect of seeing Wainright back in a Suns‘ uniform. Given his involvement in a couple of memorable playoff runs, there’s a nostalgic sentiment attached to his return.

However, on the other hand, many fans voiced disappointment over the Suns’ decision not to acquire an additional point guard to bolster their depth. Considering Wainright averaged just 4.2 points and 2.3 rebounds per game with Phoenix last season, it was not the flashy pickup that fans wanted.

With the toughest remaining schedule in the NBA and injuries still plaguing the team, it’s evident that the Suns are in dire need of a spark.

Since Wainright was signed to a two-way contract, he will be ineligible to participate in the playoffs.

How do you feel about the signing?
