Starting on the mound for Arizona was 2023 postseason standout Brandon Pfaadt. In two innings, Pfaadt allowed one run after Andrew Vaughn doubled and scored in the 2nd.

Pfaadt exited with the Diamondbacks tied at one apiece, as Andres Chaparro connected for a home run to left field in the top of the inning for Arizona.

However, the White Sox started to pull away with two runs in the 3rd, followed by another in the 4th, and one more in the 6th.

Tommy Henry, who posted a 4.15 ERA last season with the D-backs, allowed three earned runs on six hits in 2.1 innings of work. Henry also walked two batters.

Meanwhile, the Diamondbacks would not get on the board again until the top of the 9th, where a pair of singles led to Jancarlos Cintron coming around to score.

Continuing his impressive spring training, Ketel Marte went 1-2 and drew a walk out of the leadoff spot. Marte holds a .600 batting average this spring.

On the other hand, Jordan Lawlar, ranked as MLB Pipeline’s #11 prospect, had another rough day at the plate, accumulating two strikeouts in an 0-3 afternoon.

The Diamondbacks will be back in action tomorrow against the 7-6 San Diego Padres, who are riding a three-game winning streak. First pitch is scheduled for 1:10 PM.
