Knizer went 2-for-4 as he homered and singled while catcher Andrew Knapp and center fielder Derek Hill were both 2-for-2 for Texas (3-1). Starting pitcher Dane Dunning struck out two batters and gave up two runs on two hits in the Rangers’ second straight victory.

Eugenio Suárez was 2-for-2 at the plate and scored two runs as Arizona (2-3) lost their second consecutive Spring Training game. Offseason signing Eduardo Rodriguez allowed four runs on four hits in one inning during his D’Backs debut.

Knizner then powered a three-run homer to right field for a 4-1 Rangers lead in the top of the second, ending Rodriguez’s start. Texas recorded 14 hits throughout the matinee.

Off of another fly ball, the D’Backs got on the board again 4-2 as Suárez came home from an out on Jorge Barrosa.

In the top of the fourth, Nathaniel Lowe hit a two-run double before Leody Tavares tacked on another RBI to extend the margin to 7-2 Texas.

Suárez went home once more after Jose Herrera singled in the bottom of the inning as Arizona scored, 7-3.

Up four, Davis Wendzel made it 8-3 with an RBI double in the fifth as Texas ran away with the game.
