Through 20 minutes of play, the Sun Devils (13-14, 7-9) have paved their way to the rim at will.

Despite leading by seven, the team has converted on just two threes and two free throws.

Defensively, Arizona State has visibly looked locked in and has not made it easy on Washington State. The Cougars (21-6, 12-4) have shot 40% from the field and under 30% from beyond the arc.

Frankie Collins and Jamiya Neal are leading the Sun Devils with nine points a piece.

Much-needed victory

A victory against the current No. 1 team in the Pac-12 would be significant for ASU right now. Washington State is coming off a three-point win against No. 4 Arizona.

Despite currently sitting at eighth in the conference, coming out on top here could give the Sun Devils much-needed momentum.

Frankie Collins makes Arizona State history

The team needs to continue attacking the rim and not settling for low-percentage shots. Head coach Bobby Hurley continues to make adjustments and the impact of that is showing.
