Coming into this game as an underdog against No. 3 ranked Desert Mountain, Mesa had a tough task.
However, they have been one of the hottest teams as of late and now extend their win streak to 10 straight.
Defeating a true open-division contender makes the Jackrabbits a team to watch as playoff basketball approaches. The team lost to the Wolves in the first round of last year’s playoffs. They will now look to make a deeper and potiential championship run this year.

Wolves drop one
Desert Mountain is currently considered one of the best teams in the state.
They are coming off a season making it to the final four of the Open Division playoffs. However, the Wolves were sent home by the eventual state champion Perry Pumas.
The team has struggled defensively this season and that was the case again on Monday.

Desert Mountain will attempt to learn from this loss and end the season strong against the Millennium Tigers (19-4), who are also considered one of the most dangerous teams in the state.
