After it was reported that Florida was being investigated, college football insider Brent McMurphy reported that the investigation was regarding the recruitment of Rashada.
Following his commitment to Miami, Rashada signed to Florida at the end of 2022 and was set to enroll at the school. However, there were issues regarding his NIL agreement with The Gator Collective. The Athletic reported that the agency promised Rashada a contract worth up to $13.8 million but did not hold up their end of the deal.
Florida's recruitment of Jaden Rashada was really something. Here was our story on how a 4-star QB went from $13.85 million to no NIL deal (and sparked an NCAA investigation). https://t.co/7oqeV5t27Vhttps://t.co/7oqeV5t27V

The NIL deal agreed upon played a significant part in Rashada leaving Miami and the collective not honoring the financial terms caused him to de-commit from Florida.
The California native then decided that Arizona State was the right place for him.
Rashada’s First Season With ASU
Rashada went on to do something that is not done much at the college level: being named starting quarterback as a true freshman. Not only that, but the quarterback got a win in his very first start, defeating Southern Utah 24-21.
Idc that it’s vs. Southern Utah —
12-of-16 , 182 yards, 2 TD in his first half of college football for *true* freshman Jaden Rashada
Florida shoulda gave up that $230 million fully guaranteed NIL contract

However, his season was cut short due to injuries, as he appeared in just three total games.
Rashada was a highly-ranked prospect coming out of high school and has flashed great potiential. He and the Sun Devils will look to turn the program around next season.
