The Phoenix Suns find themselves at a critical juncture in the 2023-2024 season, holding a 14-14 record and grappling with a recent slump, losing 8 of their last 11 games, largely due to injuries.

In a recent revelation by NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski at ESPN, it has come to light that 13-time All-Star Kevin Durant is growing increasingly frustrated with the Suns, specifically expressing concerns about the team’s supporting cast.

The tension is visible, with Woj noting that those around the Suns “feel the frustration,” a sentiment echoing the team’s challenging start this season.

Compounding the pressure is the Suns’ limited timeframe, having traded away several first-round draft picks to acquire Durant last year. Woj emphasized the urgency for change, stating that things have “got to change soon.”

This season, Kevin Durant, at 35 years old, is averaging 30.9 points per game which is his highest average since 2013 when he played for the Thunder.

Yet this MVP-type performance has still not been enough to get the Suns on a consistent winning streak. Whether it’s injuries, shooting woes, or a lack of rhythm on the court, the Suns have deviated from the anticipated trajectory for this season.

Accustomed to a winning culture, Durant, who has consistently led his teams to the playoffs since 2010, it comes as no surprise that he is uncomfortable with the current state of affairs in Phoenix.

The Suns will look to get back into the win column against the Dallas Mavericks on Christmas Day, tipoff is at 8:30 PM.
