Having just crossed the 1/3 mark of the 2023-2024 NBA season, Suns’ Kevin Durant is on pace to have one of the best shooting seasons of all time.

Durant is averaging 30.6 points per game on 51.4% shooting from the field and 47.1% from three. If he were to stay at this same pace for the rest of the season, he would join Stephen Curry as the only player in NBA history to average 30 points per game on 50+% shooting from the field and 45+% shooting from three.

Curry achieved this remarkable feat back in 2015-2016. He led the league in scoring that year and was also named MVP.

While Durant may not currently be inside the top-five in MVP odds, if he does stay at the pace that he is at, one would assume that he has a fighting chance to be named MVP for the 2nd time in his career.

Since joining the Suns less than a year ago, Durant has averaged just around 30 points per game on 53% shooting from the field and 49% shooting from three.

Which means, at 35 years old, KD is playing at the highest level of his career since his MVP season in 2013.
