While the beginning of this feud can be up for discussion, it really took off during the 2022 Western Conference Semifinals.

Following a phenomenal regular season for the Suns, culminating in a franchise-record 64 wins, their journey to the NBA Finals was seemingly unstoppable.

But Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks had other plans.

Heading back to the Footprint Center in Phoenix, trailing in the series 3-2, Luka led the Mavs with back-to-back 30+ point games, ultimately sending his team to the Western Conference Finals.

The series reached its climax with the Mavericks securing a resounding 33-point win in Game 7, leaving the Suns stunned and establishing the foundation for a burgeoning rivalry.

Since then, every encounter between Devin Booker and Luka Doncic has been nothing short of dramatic.

As anticipation builds for their Christmas Day showdown, Luka Doncic shed some light on his relationship with Devin Booker.

When asked if they get along with each other, Doncic replied, “It’s competitive basketball.”

Despite the on-court intensity, Doncic expressed admiration for Booker, acknowledging, “I respect him a lot; I love his game.”

Off the court, there’s mutual respect between these two players as illustrated by Luka. But once the game begins, from start to finish, a competitive rivalry takes over, and Christmas Day will prove to be no different.
