Fans embrace “the power of friendship” after Dodgers continue spending spree

Shortly after they signed Shohei Ohtani to the largest contract in MLB history, the Los Angeles Dodgers signed Yoshinobu Yamamoto to a 12-year, $325 million deal.

The Dodgers have spent over $1 billion this offseason and, in part, have created one of, if not the best, lineups in baseball history.

As a result, fans have had to resort to humor to make light of the spending spree that the Dodgers have gone on.

In particular, Diamondbacks fans are having a great time with the new phrase, “the power of friendship.”

After all, it would not be hard to say that if it were not for the D-backs sweeping the Dodgers in the NLDS a few months ago, Los Angeles would not be so eager to acquire a super team.
