The defending open state champions Perry Pumas lost three out of four games but have now won three straight, making them 8-3 on the season.
Despite the tough stretch, the team persevered through it and is now back on track to repeat.
Beating one of the hottest teams in the state by 30 points is an incredible way to get rid of any doubts that people may have had about Perry this season.
Pinnacle Falls Short
Even with this devastating loss, the Pioneers are still 9-3 on the season and have outscored opponents 848-722.
The team’s other two losses came by just three points, making this the first game of the season where they were utterly dominated.
This loss shouldn’t be taken too seriously for the Pioneers as it is against one of if not the best team in the state of Arizona.
What’s Next
Pinnacle next faces an out-of-state team as they play the Houston Christian Mustangs who are 14-3 to start their season.
The Pumas take a long break and next play the 7-3 Gilbert Tigers on Jan. 4, 2024, @ 7 p.m.
These are two teams you must keep an eye on all season and heading into the open state playoffs.
