Bobby Hurley posted the announcement on X along with saying that Miller will look to appeal this decision.

This is the second year in a row that Adam Miller has transferred, which meant he had to fill out a waiver stating why he should be allowed to play this season. However, it took months before the NCAA finally announced his denial today.

Miller started his playing career at Illinois before transferring to LSU before last season. He then joined Sean Phillips and committed to ASU this year. However, he hasn’t been able to play due to NCAA rules.

Miller most recently was not in attendance for ASU’s game versus SMU. Bobby Hurley spoke up, saying that because of this waiver issue, Miller has been struggling with mental health and that the university is working to get Miller the help he needs.

This is a major loss for ASU, who expected Miller to be a big part of their frontcourt coming into this season. However, due to the situation, ASU brought in Jose Perez, which felt like a sign that they knew this waiver would not go in Miller’s favor.

Adam Miller will continue to work on his mental health and game this season and will be a big piece for the Sun Devils next season.
