Bratt delivered one of the most efficient starts by a rookie pitcher in modern baseball history, tossing seven innings, allowing just one hit, striking out nine and earning the victory in fewer than 100 pitches.
Since pitches were first tracked in 1988, Bratt is the only rookie left-hander in MLB to record an outing with that combination of numbers. The performance etched his name into the record books, but its value to the Diamondbacks extended far beyond the milestone.

Coming off a loss in his previous start, Bratt responded with the best outing of his young career, helping Arizona avoid losing ground in a tightly contested NL Wild Card race.
