Where Did Trey McBride Rank Among Tight Ends in Week 13?

In Week 13 the (3-10) Arizona Cardinals defeated the (7-5) Pittsburgh Steelers, 24-10. A big part of the offensive success for the Cardinals was the play of tight end Trey McBride.

McBride had eight receptions for 89 yards and a touchdown. Where did his performance rank among tight ends last week?

Here Comes McBride

According to the numbers, Trey McBride had the second best game of any tight end in week 13. Their is a strong argument to the be made for him having the best week of any tight end.

Sam LaPorta had a great game for the Detroit Lions against a pretty good New Orleans Saints defense. The Saints are giving up 21.3 points per game. Which is 16th in the NFL?

Lions quarterback Jared Goff threw for 213 yards and LaPorta was on the receiving end of 140 of those yards. LaPorta caught 56% of the completed passes and accounted for 65% of the passing yards.

Trey McBride had an awesome game against the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Steelers have a great defense that is only allowing 19.1 points per game. This is sixth best in the NFL.

Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray threw for 145 yards and McBride was on the receiving end of 89 of those yards. McBride caught 61% of the completed passes and passing yards.

LaPorta had a great game for the Lions but McBride had a better game. He played against the better defense and was responsible a higher percentage of caught passes and yards.

Trey McBride is the bright spot of the season for the Cardinals and will be a building block going forward. This is just the beginning for “Big Play Trey”.
