While his brother was on the other sideline, J.J. Watt made sure to give a quick shoutout to his former team after the Cardinals went into Pittsburgh and defeated the Steelers on Sunday.

In a game that featured two different weather delays, the Cardinals picked up their third win of the season against a Steelers team that is currently fighting for a Wild Card spot.

Leading the offensive charge was James Conner, who played with the Steelers for four seasons. He had 25 carries for 105 yards and two touchdowns.

This was Conner’s second 100-yard rushing game of the season, which is actually more than he had over the course of his first two seasons with the Cardinals.

Overall this season, while fighting through some injuries, Conner is averaging a career high of 4.9 yards per attempt and is just shy of a career high of 70 yards per game.

Here is what J.J. Watt had to say after the Cardinals win:

“James Conner over 100 yards and 2 TDs. Hell of a performance in his homecoming.”

“Cardinals not packing it in despite being 2-10, showing up with a great performance on the road in some difficult conditions.”

While some fans may plead for the Cardinals to just lose out so they can secure the 2nd overall pick in the 2024 draft, the culture that Jonathan Gannon built in Arizona simply will not allow such a thing.

Instead, the Cards continue to show tremendous heart week in and week out.
