Coyotes D Vladislav Kolyachonok is listed as week-to-week (lower body)
— Arizona Coyotes PR (@AZCoyotesPR) November 27, 2023
Previously, there was no information on extent of his injury.
Against the Vegas Golden Knights on Nov. 25, the Coyotes were down to five defensemen as Kolyachonok was hit behind the net by Golden Knights forward Jonathan Marchessault.
Kolyachonok’s right leg was crunched as it absorbed most of the impact while he went down.
As a result, Kolyachonok was in serious pain before eventually heading to the locker-room and didn’t return.
Furthermore, the Coyotes injury situation has became even more alarming.
Currently, center Barrett Hayton (upper body), defenseman Travis Dermott (upper body), center Jack McBain (lower body) and Juuso Välimäki (upper body) have all missed time.
Originally, Kolyachonok was slotted into Arizona’s lineup versus Vegas after replacing yet another defenseman.
Veteran Matt Dumba dealt with a lower-body injury and was listed out before the game.
There is no timetable or news on the severity of Dumba’s situation, at the time of reporting.
Now, Kolyachonok becomes the fourth ‘Yotes defenseman to be injured.
It will be interesting to see who the next player will be called up by the Coyotes from their AHL minor league affiliate, the Tucson Roadrunners.
Once there is more details on a promotion, Burn City Sports will keep you up-to-date.
