A 3-4 start to the season was not what the Phoenix Suns had in mind, considering the sky-high expectations set after a couple of significant offseason moves.

However, a string of injuries, including Bradley Beal’s two-week absence and Devin Booker playing in just two of the first seven games, has forced the Suns into catch-up mode.

While they were able to snap a three-game losing streak with a win over the Pistons on Sunday, it took Kevin Durant putting up 41 points to do so. It was his first 40-point performance in a Suns’ uniform.

Nevertheless, Phoenix’s coach, Frank Vogel, is not allowing these injuries to the Suns star core to be an excuse for his team’s slow start.

As reported by Duane Rankin at AZCentral, Vogel firmly dismissed any room for excuses, boldly stating, “7-0, that’s what I would like to be, even with those guys out.”

The silver lining for Frank Vogel and the Suns is the impending return of Devin Booker and Bradley Beal to the court.

Whether they all make their comeback against the Los Angeles Lakers on Friday or sometime next week, fans will finally have the chance to witness the Suns’ big three in action when fully healthy.

Last year, Bradley Beal averaged 23 points, Devin Booker averaged 27 points, and Kevin Durant averaged 26 points.

This combines for 76 points just between three players alone, assuming they are all on the court for over 30 minutes each.

While Devin Booker’s return might be slightly delayed, there is optimism that Beal could make his season debut on Wednesday against the Chicago Bulls, providing a glimmer of hope for the Suns’ resurgence.
