Ex-Cardinal Josh Dobbs’ Change of Scenery off to Perfect Start

The Arizona Cardinals decided to trade quarterback Josh Dobbs to the Minnesota Vikings on Halloween, or Oct. 31, to open up the possibilities of either rookie Clayton Tune starting or star Kyler Murray making his highly-anticipated 2023 debut.

However, Tune, along with the rest of the Cardinals, struggled as they were shutout 27-0 by the Cleveland Browns today.

In his first NFL game as a No. 1 quarterback, Tune would throw two interceptions, completed 11 of 20 passes and for only 58 yards.

On the other hand, Dobbs’ first week as a Viking couldn’t have been scripted any better.

Suiting up for the first time in purple and gold, Dobbs was penciled in as the backup to Minnesota rookie Jaren Hall.

But, Hall suffered a concussion in the first quarter and left the game.

Taking over, Dobbs came to the rescue and did the rest.

Dobbs would nail 20 of 30 pass attempts for 158 yards, throw two touchdowns and ran into the end zone for another.

Additionally, Dobbs tossed the game-winning score to Vikings wide receiver Brandon Powell with 0:22 left in the game to win 31-28 at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta.

Afterwards, Dobbs shared a message about making his first trip to Minnesota after the win.

Moreover, with this victory, the Vikings improve to 5-4 while Arizona sits in the cellar at 1-8.

With Hall dealing with an injury, Dobbs will most likely get the nod to start against the New Orleans Saints.

Do you think trading Josh Dobbs was a mistake or is moving on from him the best decision the Cardinals could have made?
