In 8 games into his rookie season, Demercado has started twice, scored a touchdown and ran for 195 yards on 49 carries.
Still, Arizona are without star RB James Conner (knee) who remains on injured reserve since Oct. 10.
With this news, the Cardinals have signed running back Tony Jones Jr. to the 53-man roster from the practice squad as insurance.
Furthermore, this is the second time Jones Jr. has been on the active roster.
Since being waived on Oct. 19, no other team claimed Jones Jr. and Arizona re-signed him to the practice squad.
Along with Emari Demercado, Cards’ offensive lineman Trystan Colon will also be out vs. Cleveland as he has been dealing with a calf injury.
For Colon, this season was his first in the valley since spending three with the Baltimore Ravens.
Additionally, Colon has started in 2 of the 8 games that he has played in a Cardinals uniform.
