Burn City Best Bets: NLCS Game Five in Arizona

Arizona Diamondbacks center fielder Alek Thomas (right) celebrates with left fielder Lourdes Gurriel Jr. (12) after hitting a two-run home run against the Philadelphia Phillies during the eighth inning in Game 4 of the NLCS of the 2023 MLB playoffs at Chase Field in Phoenix on Oct. 20, 2023.

The Arizona Diamondbacks are coming off of back-to-back wins in front of their home crowd and are trying to take a lead into Philly. For game five tonight, the sports books have the Phillies as the favorites in Arizona. Here are our Burn City Best Bets for tonight’s NLCS action.

Game Lines

DraftKings currently has the game line set as the Phillies being the favorite at -135. Personally, I like the Diamondbacks here, and I will tell you why. Arizona played very good baseball the last two games. Yesterday they managed to score in the situations they needed runs. Tonight with Wheeler on the mound, there won’t be many of those opportunities, but, if the Diamondbacks can score in those moments, they will win. Arizona has their ace Zac Gallen on the hill who has thrown exceptionally well in front of his home crowd. Unlike the hostile environment in Philadelphia.

Pitcher Props

I love Zac Gallen over 15.5 outs recorded. Tonight might be Gallen’s last time pitching in the NLCS, unless they get ahead early and save him for game seven. Which is pretty unlikely giving who he is throwing against. Gallen went over that mark in Philly, despite being knocked around a bit. I also like Gallen over 5.5 strikeouts set at +100. Zac Gallen is a menace to face when he’s throwing at Chase Field in Arizona. Adding that and the fact that this Phillies lineup strikes out a lot, I love the over. I also like Gallen under 1.5 walks set at +115. I expect the Diamondbacks ace to be razor sharp tonight against Wheeler.

Hitter Props

Ketel Marte to get a hit despite being -240, is one of those bets you ride until the wheels fall off. Marte is on a 13-game post season hit streak, and he has been the reason the Diamondbacks have so much life the past two games. Another guy I like to light up the base path tonight is Lourdes Gurriel Jr. Gurriel Jr is currently +115 to go over 1.5 hits + runs + RBIs tonight and the way he is swinging the bat and being affective on the base path, I like it.

Zac Gallen is a different animal at Chase Field

When Will the Disrespect Stop Against the Diamondbacks?
