When Will the Disrespect Stop Against the Diamondbacks?

Oct 20, 2023; Phoenix, AZ, USA; Arizona Diamondbacks Geraldo Perdomo (2) high-fives teammate Alek Thomas (5) after their 6-5 NLCS Game 4 win against the Philadelphia Phillies at Chase Field.

Even after back-to-back incredible come from behind wins, the Diamondbacks still haven’t become a favorite to grab a home win. Alek Thomas, Gabriel Moreno and co. played like a top tier team yesterday, hopefully they can Embrace the Chaos and silence the doubters. Arizona tied the series at 2 heading into game five at home.

Will the Diamondbacks Ever Be the Favorite?

With Zac Gallen on the hill and the Diamondbacks having all of the momentum in the world, the sports books still favor the Phillies. Arizona put up a series high six runs yesterday and have held the Phillies to six runs the last two games. Despite Zach Wheeler being immaculate to this point in the post season, we’re on Zac Gallen’s turf now. Gallen has been excellent at Chase Field this year, and he’s looking to bounce back after being rocked by the Phillies in his last outing.

A Young and Hungry Lineup

The Arizona Diamondbacks lineup features three 23 year old players who are developing into stars in this league. Alek Thomas stole the show last night with a game tying two run home run in the bottom of the eighth. Ketel Marte and Corbin Carroll followed him by getting on base, and Gabriel Moreno scored Marte. All three of the Diamondbacks young studs winning the game for the Diamondbacks.

This lineup has so much momentum, which hasn’t been manufacture purely by the bats around them, but the young arms have also brought so much life. Brandon Pfaadt, a rookie who just threw lights out against a juggernaut of a lineup.

The Phillies are Still the Popular Bet

For the first time all series, the Diamondbacks have over 30% of bets placed on them. With their ace on the mound and the line up getting their feet under them, just 31% of bettors are riding with the Diamondbacks to continue to shock everyone. I’m in that 31%, Arizona has been Embracing the Chaos sense day one, and now is a better time than ever to embrace it.
