After traveling to Australia for two, California for two and four other cities around the U.S. for eight total games, the Arizona Coyotes conclude their travel-intensive preseason today as they will head to Tucson to face the Anaheim Ducks at the Tucson Convention Center Arena at 3 p.m.

This will be the third and last meeting between Arizona and Anaheim as they have split the first two of three games in their preseason series.

The Ducks came back from 4-3 down with less that 40 seconds left in the game and scored twice late to win 5-4 in Palm Springs on Oct. 1.

Then on Oct. 5, the Coyotes dished out some payback as they went into Anaheim’s home rink, the Honda Center, and left with a 4-2 victory.

With the regular season just around the corner next week, both squads will look to end their preseasons on a high note.

Here is all that is needed to know before the first and only preseason game in Arizona:

Last Encounter

In Anaheim, the game was full of penalties and the Ducks threw everything at the net, but couldn’t get a breakthrough.

For both squads, there was a combined total of 16 penalties throughout the game.

For shots, Anaheim had 35 compared to 17 for Arizona.

But, thanks to a 33-save performance by Arizona goaltender Connor Ingram and two goals from rookie Logan Cooley, the Yotes claimed the 4-2 dub in Anaheim.

With the two goals, Cooley is now the Coyotes preseason leader on the active NHL roster in points with 4 in three games.

Arizona prospect Josh Doan had three goals and two assists for five points in three preseason games, but he was demoted to the Tucson Roadrunners last week.

As for the Ducks, the preseason production of their fourth line has continued.

Having both five points each, Anaheim right-winger Brett Leason and center Sam Carrick connected for yet another goal in the Oct. 5 loss.

On Thursday, the Ducks came to agreement with restricted free agent Jamie Drysdale on a three-year contract.

Today, Drysdale should make his preseason debut in Tucson after sitting out due to contract negotiations.

In his career, Drysdale has scored seven goals and 33 assists for 40 points in 113 games for the Californian club.
