During tonight’s press conference, Lovullo saw a familiar face who he used to coach during his time with the Boston Red Sox.

All-star outfielder Mookie Betts took time to say hello to Lovullo as the two had a heartwarming yet funny response to one another ahead of tomorrow’s NLDS Game 1.

Betts played for the Boston Red Sox from 2014 to 2019 before signing as a free agent to join the Los Angeles Dodgers in hopes of winning his second championship trophy.

And he did just that back in 2020 when the Dodgers beat the Tampa Rays during the COVID year to win the World Series.

He and Lovullo were together from 2014 to 2016 as Lovullo, in Betts’ words, helped raise him into the player and leader that he is today.
