Rising vs Eleven ends in a draw with a stunning goal from Indy

The Phoenix Rising and Indy Eleven kicked off on Wednesday at 7:38 p.m. followed by a slow start to both team’s offensive game.

The only action in the first half came in the form of penalties for both teams. In the 16th minute, Rising’s’ Henry Uzuchokwu was assessed with a yellow card, followed by Eleven’s Stefano Pinho in the 31st minute. To round out the first half, Manuel Arteaga added to the Rising’s card count, earning himself a yellow card as well.

Before either team would score, the Rising would earn its third yellow card in the 62nd minute.

The excitement came with ten minutes left in regulation when midfielder Carlos Harvey scored the games fourth goal on an assist from Danny Trejo.

Eight minutes of extra time would be added to the game and Indy capitalized on the bonus, scoring its first goal in the 95th minute to tie the match 1-1.

With what looked like a safe path towards a victory, ended in a draw between the two teams with three minutes left of extra time.

The Rising had a staggering 14 shots with only three shots on target and possession of the ball 53% of the time.

With the draw, the Rising have extended its no loss streak to six games straight. Its last loss came from the Rio Grande Valley Toros on Aug. 19 on the road.
