Carrol joined Mike Trout, Mitchell Page and Tommie Agee in the 40/2o club. Carroll is easily the NL Rookie Of the Year front runner and would be the first player in Diamondbacks history to do so. The rookie sensation has taken the baseball world by storm, also being named an all-star starter in his first year. Carrol is considered one of the best outfielders in baseball at the age of 23.

Everywhere you look Corbin Carroll is undoubtedly ranked the #1 rookie in baseball, and deservingly so. On the year, Carroll has a .279/.361/.519 split.

Could Carroll be the NL MVP?

Not yet, but, in multiple spaces Rookie of the Year isn’t the only hardware up for grabs for Carroll. He is also receiving MVP votes. Bleacher Report ranked Carroll at fifth amongst players receiving NL MVP votes.

There is no doubt that the outburst of the 23 year old phenom is a huge reason for the Diamondbacks success. Carroll currently leads the Diamondbacks with the highest batting average, and also in on base percentage. Carrol isn’t just a hitter, either. The Diamondbacks center fielder has a .996 fielding percentage on the year. He has committed just one error on 249 chances across all three outfield positions.

A couple weeks ago the MLB came out with a poll showing the top power/speed threats in the MLB. The only player ranked above Corbin Carroll was Ronald Acuna Jr. Carroll was also placed above big names like Mike Trout, Fernando Tatis Jr and others.

Diamondback die hards have lots to look forward to in the future with their young core. Earlier this season, Carroll was signed to an 8 year, $111 million contract, so he’ll be around for awhile.
