The John Mackey Award is presented annually to college football’s most outstanding tight end, while the college football season’s most outstanding FBS receiver wins the Biletnikoff Award at the end of every year.

Both of the players have looked extremely good in fall camp, as expected.

Conyers said last week that the John Mackey Award was an obvious goal for him.

He had 38 receptions for 422 yards and five touchdowns last season. Conyers is poised for a big and potentially record-breaking season next year and was ranked earlier this offseason as PFF’s third highest-graded returning tight end.

Arizona State spring game standouts

Badger is set to be ASU’s No. 1 wide receiver for a second straight year. He had 70 receptions, 866 yards and seven touchdowns last season and is poised for an even bigger season this year in Kenny Dillingham’s offense.

No Sun Devils made an All-Pac-12 preseason team this year, but Conyers was an honorable mention. Badger was surprisingly snubbed all together.

Both Badger and Conyers will look to prove themselves at the top of their positions this season and will have great opportunities in the new high-powered offense.
