After trailing 3-0 early on, the Diamondbacks stormed back in the second half to even up their series against the Mariners.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe! With rookie starter Brandon Pfaadt on the mound, Seattle put up one run in three consecutive innings, jumping out to a lead similar to the one seen last night.
However, in a game that Arizona desperately needed, in front of a packed home crowd, the “answerbacks” showed that they are not all the way dead in the water.
Newly recalled Dominic Canzone played a large role in the Diamondbacks comeback with a pair of RBIs. Along with his two-out base knock in the 4th inning to bring Arizona within one, Canzone came up clutch with a single in the 8th inning to break the tie.
Corbin Carroll walked, moved to second on a balk, then stole third base. Dominic Canzone chopped 100 up the gut to take the lead!!

This base hit handed the Diamondbacks their first lead in a game since Wednesday against the Cardinals. It snapped a 25-inning streak where the Diamondbacks were either trailing or tied.
However, even more impressive tonight was the D-backs bullpen, which provided 3.1 shutout innings split between five different relievers. In total, the Diamondbacks bullpen struck out seven batters in the final three innings, including a Kevin Ginkel strikeout of the side in the 7th.
Not only was this a sight for sore eyes, but it provided the momentum that the Diamondbacks offense needed to get that go-ahead run.
With this much-needed win, the D-backs will have a chance to claim their second series victory since the All-Star break if they can scratch away a win tomorrow. Merrill Kelly is scheduled to get the start for Arizona; the first pitch will be at 1:10 PM.
