With the regular season quickly approaching, the Arizona Cardinals have a decision to make quite soon on who will be their starting quarterback come Week One.

After losing Kyler Murray for the first half of the season due to an ACL tear, the Cardinals elected to take QB Clayton Tune in the 5th round of the 2023 NFL Draft.

As of now, the Cardinals backup option is Colt McCoy, who will be turning 37 years old before this season begins.

However, given his age, Arizona has a legitimate decision to make regarding their opening weekend quarterback.

With Clayton Tune quickly progressing early on in training camp, why should Arizona not take this chance?

Last year at the University of Houston, Tune threw for over 4000 yards, matched with 40 touchdowns. He led the American Athletic Conference in just about every passing category.

And with expectations for the Cardinals near all-time lows, there does not seem to be any good reason why they should not attempt to develop their new young quarterback.
