Not only is Corbin Carroll leading the Rookie of the Year odds by a large margin (-500), but the 22-year-old is also 3rd in the NL MVP odds.
With the first half of 2023 in the books, Carroll trails only Ronald Acuna Jr. and Freddie Freeman.
Carroll’s $111 million contract is almost looking like a steal considering the production value he has already brought. His 3.6 WAR (wins above replacement) ranks 7th in the MLB and 3rd in the National League.
This production has guided the Diamondbacks to the third-best record in the MLB. If things stood as they are at the midway point, the D-backs would be crowned NL West champions for the first time since 2011.
For this reason, Carroll was also named a starter on the National League All-Star team. Carroll will have the opportunity to play back in his hometown of Seattle on July 11th, side by side with the league’s biggest stars.
