Suns Trade 10 Draft Picks in Beal Deal

According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the Suns sent out a total of 10 draft picks to the Washington Wizards along with Chris Paul and Landry Shamet. The deal contains six second-round picks and four first-round pick swaps.

Along with receiving Beal, the Suns will also acquire Isaiah Todd and Jordan Goodwin in the deal.

What was once thought to be a heist on the Suns’ part has turned into offseason pandemonium. At first, it was believed that Phoenix would only send a few pick swaps, though four is a bit far- fetched. The Suns will send picks to Washington through 2030.

The completion of the deal comes on the cusp of the Wizards then turning to deal Chris Paul to the Golden State Warriors for Jordan Poole. In the end, Washington was able to recoup a hefty amount of picks.

As for the Suns, there overall outlook remains the same. Phoenix has fortified a solid Big 3 with the addition of Beal. On the other hand, how they obtain talent through trades is a mystery.

Deandre Ayton appears to be staying put for now, leaving no legitimate avenues for reasonable trades.

Currently, Phoenix has Ayton, Beal, Devin Booker, Kevin Durant, Cameron Payne and Ish Wainwright on the books along with Todd and Goodwin.

The possibility still remains that Phoenix could look towards verterans on minimum deals in free agency. That option could see them bring back some familiar faces in Damion Lee, Josh Okogie or Torrey Craig.
