Paul talked with AZ Central Suns insider Duane Rankin, and Paul told him he would “absolutely” love to return to the Suns next season.

“Absolutely,” Paul said when asked if he wants to stay in Phoenix, per Duane Rankin of the Arizona Republic. “That’s why I’m there. I’ve talked with my family, we’ve had conversations about what could be, what might be,” Paul said Thursday of his future. “I’ve talked with my agent. Talked to my brother (C.J. Paul).”

Paul has two years left on his four-year $120 million contract, and the Suns are looking into potential trade options before they way all their options involving the soon-to-be 19-year veteran.

The Suns have been dominant under Paul over the past three seasons. They’ve made a championship appearance, they’ve won a franchise record 64 games, and are 135-59 with him on the floor.

There’s still a path for where Paul can stay through clearing waivers and returning on a cheaper deal. We’ll see if the Suns and Paul can come to an agreement before the June 28th deadline.
