After a day off due to a delayed series finale against the Nationals, the Arizona Diamondbacks kept the hot offense going with an explosive 11-6 victory over the Tigers.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe! The Diamondbacks started early with a Corbin Carroll solo home run in the first inning, it would be his first of two on the afternoon.
It was then a Geraldo Perdomo base hit that drove in the second run, extending the Diamondbacks lead to two.
While the Tigers did end up tying up the ballgame in the 6th inning, any chance of a lead was halted due to a brilliant over-the-shoulder catch by center fielder Jake McCarthy.

Following this grab, the Diamondbacks lived up to their nickname, and answered right back with seven runs in the top of the seventh.
In what started with a pair of doubles, Corbin Carroll put the nail in the coffin with his first career grand slam.
The rookie now has four homeruns in the past four games, further solidifying his rookie of the year bid.Â
He would end the day going 3-5, with five RBIs.

On the mound for the D-backs was Merrill Kelly, who provided 6.1 solid innings, allowing three earned runs on seven hits.
Although there were some struggles from the bullpen, the Diamondbacks offense provided all the cushion a pitching staff could ask for.
With this win, Arizona has won three in a row and holds a two-game lead over the Los Angeles Dodgers for first place in the National League West.
Next up for the Diamondbacks is a Saturday morning game in Detroit. It will be rookie Ryne Nelson who gets the start.
