Peat is listed at 6-foot-4 and 250 pounds and revealed he was given the opportunity to play at Arizona State on Jan. 28. He was named to the First Team All-6A Central Region in his last season with the Aztecs.

Peat chose to play for the Sun Devils over options to be a preferred walk-on at Baylor, Michigan State and Colorado and other offers that included NAU, Colorado State Pueblo, Fort Valley State, Black Hills State, Lincoln University and Johnson C. Smith University.

Peat is the younger brother of standout NFL left guard Andrus Peat, who also went to Corona del Sol and was drafted in the first round of the 2015 NFL Draft out of  Stanford. He is also the older brother of Perry sophomore Koa Peat, who is regarded a top five basketball player in the country in his class and was named this  season’s Gatorade Arizona Boys Basketball Player of the Year after leading the Pumas to the Open Division state title.

Peat has a remarkable story of triumph in getting to this point. In June of 2021, Peat fractured his tibia at basketball practice, and he nearly lost his life during what should have been a routine surgery to correct the fracture after he had an allergic reaction to the medication. This led to an unsuccessful surgery and him being placed in a medically induced coma for four days. After waking up from the coma, Peat would finally undergo the surgery. However, he still faced a number of physical problems caused by severe nerve damage on the left side of his body, and he was ultimately discharged from the hospital three weeks later and still was able to play in the last three games of Corona’s 2021 football season.

Peat will look to continue his incredible journey in the maroon and gold next season, and he commits to the program just two days ahead of ASU’s spring game.
