The NFL has released its official list of compensatory draft picks for the upcoming draft in April. The Arizona Cardinals will receive three additional draft picks, including a third round, a fifth round, and a sixth round.
Compensatory picks are allocated based on a unique formula that the NFL uses to determine the number and value of free agents lost compared to those gained during the previous offseason.
Additionally, the NFL takes into consideration the snap count, salary, and even postseason awards.
The Cardinals three compensatory picks can mainly be credited to their loss of Christian Kirk, Chandler Jones, and Chase Edmonds last season.
San Francisco received the most picks out of any team with seven, three of which will be in the third round.
However, Arizona did receive the highest pick in the league, and since they will be choosing third overall, their pick in the third round could have some significance.
