While most of the attention has been on the acquisition of Kevin Durant, there is one player on the Suns who is quietly having one of the best couple of weeks of his career.

And that is Deandre Ayton.

After having his name pop up numerous times in trade talks, the Suns’ center has caught fire. This has boosted Phoenix’s record to 7-3 over their past 10 games.

Ayton has averaged 23.8 points per game, 11.5 rebounds per game, and holds a .600 field goal percentage since January 26th.

This shooting talent was put on full display last night against the Kings, where he went 13 of 17 from the field, totaling 29 points in the Suns’ victory.

And already this season, Ayton has recorded five 30-plus games, compared to just four in his first four seasons in the NBA.

As much hate as the big man gets, the Suns’ former first-round pick is well on his way to breaking just about every one of his single-season records.

But more recently, Ayton has taken his game to the next level. The energy he has brought to Phoenix is unrivaled, and it could not have come at a better time.

With Kevin Durant due to step onto the court in a Suns’ uniform after the All Star break, the Suns are in extremely good shape to climb the ladder even further in the Western Conference.

Phoenix has already quickly moved up from 8th to 4th place in the matter of a week, but there is still plenty of work to be done.

An exciting second half of the season is taking shape in the valley, and this team is ready to make some noise.
