PHOENIX – The Phoenix Suns aren’t simply hoping Miles Bridges fits into their offense; they want him to help change it. During the 2026 Suns Media Day, Bridges and Devin Booker offered similar visions for what the new-look Suns can become: more physical, more aggressive, and able to create offense before the defense can set up.

Booker discussed his ability to rebound and immediately push the tempo, using his scoring and playmaking to turn defensive possessions into offensive opportunities. Bridges, meanwhile, embraced the idea of being more than another scoring option. He said he can serve as a decoy, create opportunities for teammates, and learn alongside Booker while building chemistry with Dillon Brooks and Jalen Green. That could be one of the most important themes for Phoenix this season. The Suns already have established offensive weapons. What they have been trying to build is an identity around those weapons. Phoenix has emphasized athleticism, creating more possessions and maximizing each opportunity, with Bridges viewed as a player who can contribute in transition and on the glass.

His rebounding could be particularly valuable. Bridges has ranked in the 87th percentile among wings in defensive rebounding rate over the last three seasons. That makes bringing Bridges into the fold more intriguing than simply adding another scorer. If Booker grabs a rebound and pushes while Bridges runs the floor, Phoenix can put pressure on defenses without relying exclusively on half-court isolation. Bridges is there to help make the star trio’s jobs easier. Phoenix is trying to become a team that plays with force from the opening possession. If Bridges can provide that physical edge while developing chemistry with the Suns’ core, his impact could extend well beyond his individual statistics.
