Staying in Phoenix..

Torey Lovullo was asked specifically about if he feels it is an advantage or disadvantage staying in Phoenix for spring training.

With the Super Bowl this weekend in Glendale, and the WM Phoenix Open PGA Tour this weekend; Lovullo said as soon as this weekend is over its all about baseball.

While Phoenix is a basketball city first, Russo asked what needed to happen for the Diamondbacks to get the fans back in Chase Field this season and rooting them on.

He also stated how huge last season was momentum wise, jumping from 50+ wins to 74 wins was huge. Yet, Lovullo said to get where we want to get we need to be around 90-95 wins.

Torey also alluded to the 2001 World Series banner hanging in the rafters. He said it is motivation to get where we want to get.

With such a young team, the good part is they do not know losing. They can come in fresh with a winning mindset. Lovullo also touched on the run in 2017 that was magical.

In his first year managing the team, 2017, the Diamondbacks went on a crazy run the second half of the season. Which allowed the fans to rally around them and show up to games.

Getting Fans back in the Stands

Lovullo was not timid or shy about explaining what needed to be done to draw the Phoenicians back to Chase Field. Stating that it starts with effort, energy, and ultimately winning.
